Important Notes

Registration
  • Participants must study the rules and regulations listed below carefully. Participants who complete the registration process agree to abide by the rules and regulations of the event.
  • Once the application is accepted, registration fee is non-refundable & non-transferable under any circumstances. An acknowledgement email will be sent to the registered email address after the Organizer has received the application. Otherwise, please contact the Organizer immediately.
  • Repeated entries will be counted as a single entry. The duplicated fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another applicant or race. The submitted form and information will not be returned.
  • Late or on-site enrolment will not be accepted.
Health and Safety Advice
  • Participants should understand that the nature of the event requires physical exertion. By enrolling, the Participant agrees that, as far as they are aware, he/she is in sound health capable of participating in the event. In case of uncertainty, please seek medical advice.
  • The Organizer suggests all participants to monitor their medical and physical conditions to ensure that their health conditions are suitable for the strenuous nature of the race. Should any health complications arise prior to the date of the event that may affect one's ability to participate, the individual should withdraw from the event.
  • Participants should take precautionary measures against UV, such as applying sunscreen, wearing a hat, and staying hydrated.
  • People who are pregnant or suffer from chronic diseases, such as heart disease and high blood pressure, are not recommended to participate in the event.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to disallow or disqualify any person who is known or suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the event, all participants must comply.
  • Public liability insurance is covered by the event Organizer. Participants are also advised to purchase their own insurance coverage if necessary.
Severe Weather
  • If the Typhoon Signal No.8 or above is hoisted any time after 2:00pm on the day before the event, the event will be cancelled.
  • If the Black Rainstorm Signal is hoisted any time from after 4:00am on the date of the event, the event will be cancelled.
  • If the above Inclement Weather/Condition Warnings are hoisted after the commencement of race, the Event Director has the right to change the event distance or event arrangement or to stop the event. All registration fees will not be refunded.
  • Please monitor the event day weather conditions via the Hong Kong Observatory (Tel: 1878200).
  • Please check for updates on the Lifewire Run Facebook page and website.
Others
  • Baggage storage will be provided on site. Please do not bring any valuable items. The Organizer is not responsible for any incurred loss or damage.
  • Should there be any emergencies or require assistance during the event, participants shall contact the race officials at the Information Centre.
  • All prizes are not redeemable for cash.
  • The Organizer reserves the right of final interpretation and to amend or clarify the above race rules.
  • If Government implements anti-epidemic measures, final arrangement may however be changed in accordance with Government’s latest anti-epidemic measures. Please referred to our latest announcement for finalized details.
  • Except where otherwise expressly stated in these terms and conditions, the Organizer will not accept liability or pay any compensation where our contractual obligations are prevented, affected, or suffer loss as a result of force majeure. Force majeure within these terms and conditions, refers to all events (whether actual or threatened) outside the reasonable control of the Organizer. Such events include but are not limited to: civil strife, war, riot, terrorism, health risks, pandemics, epidemics, natural or nuclear disaster, acts of government, transport delay or closure, technical problems, adverse weather conditions etc.
  • The above promotion is subject to the terms and conditions. The Organizer reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel this promotion, and change the souvenirs, participation methods and related terms and conditions of the event at any time without prior or separate notice. In case of any dispute, the organizer reserves the right of final decision.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to make the final decision on the list of participants, qualifications and all dates and times related to this event.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to make adjustments or changes based on the HKSAR announcement.
Rules and Conduct

By participating in the event, the participant agrees not to use the Lifewire Run (The Run) for any purpose prohibited by the Terms of Use or law. The participant is responsible for all activity in connection with the Run. The participant shall not permit any third party to use their account, take any action, or submit content that:

  • infringes any patent, trademark, copyright, right of publicity, or right of any other person or entity, or violates any law or contract;
  • is known to be false, misleading, or inaccurate;
  • is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, libelous, deceptive, fraudulent, tortuous, obscene, offensive, profane, or invasive of another's privacy;
  • constitutes unsolicited or unauthorized advertising or promotional material or any junk mail, spam, or chain letters;
  • involves commercial activities and/or sales without the Organizer’s prior written consent, such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising or pyramid schemes;
  • contains software viruses, computer codes, files, or any other programs that are designed or intended to disrupt, damage, limit, or interfere with the proper function of any software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment or to damage or obtain unauthorized access to any system, data, password, or other information of the Organizer or any third party, including but not limited to violating or attempting to violate any security features of the Service;
  • is made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party, such as a contractual duty or a duty of confidence; or impersonates any person or entity, including any employee or representative of the Organizer.
  • The Organizer reserves the right to take any necessary legal actions and to disqualify, withhold or withdraw runner certificates and finisher medals.
  • The position of all participants does not represent the position of the Organizer.
Pet Walk Important Note
  • Participants enter the event entirely at their own risk. The Organizer’s total liability, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise in respect of any losses arising out of or in connection with the event shall be limited to a sum equal to the total registration fee paid by all the participants to the Organizer.
  • Participants of the Pet Walk are required to properly manage their pets. Dogs must be leashed or harnessed, and participants are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Please ensure that pets do not cause disturbances, harm, or sanitation issues. Participants must follow all the instructions provided by the Organizer during the event.
  • Dangerous pets are not permitted to participate in the event, except for those with veterinary safety certificates and that are muzzled and leashed. The Organizer reserves the right to disqualify or disallow any pet and/or participant deemed to be unsuitable for participation to participate in the event, and participants must comply with the Organizer’s decision.
  • The Organizer shall not be liable for any injury, death, or loss (including but not limited to those suffered by any participant or any third party) caused by the participants’ negligence (including but not limited to managing their pets), and no compensation shall be paid by the Organizer in such event. The Organizer reserves the right to pursue legal action against the participant for any losses or damages it suffered as a result of the participants’ negligence, and the said participant shall indemnify and hold the Organizer harmless from and against all losses, damages, liabilities, costs (including legal fees) and expenses, claims, actions, proceedings, penalties however arising out of, or in connection with the participant’s negligence.
  • Participants consent to the use of their and their pets’ images in event-related media and promotional materials.
  • If any provision of this terms and conditions (or part of a provision) is found by any court or administrative or regulatory body of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, unenforceable or illegal, the other remaining provisions shall remain in force and effect.
  • This event will be held at a pet-friendly venue provided by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department. Participants must adhere to the “The Inclusive Park for Pets” User Guidelines
